About Our Pastor

Mike Frisby has served as senior minister of the Index Community Church since July 2001. He is married to Caryl Frisby and they have three sons, Michael, James, and Jeremy and eight grandchildren.

Mike is the eldest of ten children. His parents William Roger and Loretta (Spencer) Frisby moved back to Morgan County when Mike was five years old. His mother started attending the Index Community Church where Mike attended until he was 10. Then his family moved to Woodsbend and his family started attending church at the Woodsbend Community Church where Mike attended until he graduated from KY Mt. Bible Institute now KY Mt Bible College. Mike attended Morgan County schools until his senior year where he attended and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, Christian boarding school.

Mike attended colleges at Ky. Mt. Bible Institute, Morehead State University, Kentucky State University, University of Cincinnati and received degrees from KY Mt. Bible Institute and University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Arts in history. Mike received post graduate degrees from Cincinnati Bible Seminary with a Masters of Arts in biblical studies and a Master of Divinity; from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University with a Masters of Ministry; and from United Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry.

Mike has also served previously to Index Community Church as senior minister at: Coal Branch Community Church in Lee County; Lee City Community Church in Wolfe County; Cumberland Community Church and Somerset Wesleyan Church in Pulaski County; Frankfort Wesleyan Church in Franklin County and Crossroads Church of the Nazarene in South Lebanon, Ohio.

Mike was saved at the age of 16 and began serving in full time Christian ministry in 1973. He is a charter member of the West Liberty Rotary Club and a member of the Morgan County Ministerial Association and serves as volunteer chaplain at Appalachian Regional Hospital.
